I know that the concept of the game is run, hide, or die, but when an enemy blocks a doorway and you can't even push them aside, well, that's frustrating. There are no new ways to defend yourself. It's best to run in almost every situation, which ruins the dread factor in moving forward that the original did so well. They're the primary hiding spots throughout the game and they are essentially useless, especially the ones full of liquid. The barrels are almost pointless to try to hide in and they are everywhere. That open-endedness dramatically ruins the stealth/hiding mechanics in the first game. It also has amazing Sound FX and an OST that compliments every moment in the game.īad reasons the game is too linear for how open-ended a lot of sections seem. Good reasons the game is stunningly beautiful. Outlast 2 changes the environment heavily and there are good and bad reasons for that. I will say that considering Outlast 2 being retailed at $29.99USD, an extra $10 for the first game and DLC on disc, ready to install, is a steal. ![]() ![]() ![]() There are plenty of reviews for the first Outlast and it's DLC, The Whistleblower, so this entry will focus on just Outlast 2.
